and Muḥammad ibn ʿAjlān followed him from Saʿīd ibn Abī Saʿīd al-Maqburī with it, except that he said: "from the evil neighbor in the permanent abode, for the desert neighbor moves away from you." It was recorded by al-Nasāʾī (2/319) and also by al-Ḥākim, but he attributed it to the actions of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) with the wording: that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) used to say in his supplication: "O Allāh, I seek refuge in You from an evil neighbor..." the ḥadīth and he said: "Authentic according to the conditions of Muslim." al-Dhahabī agreed with him: I said: but it is only ḥasan. Similarly, it was recorded by al-Bukhārī in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (117) and Ibn Ḥibbān (2056). It has a supporting narration from the ḥadīth of ʿUqbah ibn ʿĀmir who said: "The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) used to say: O Allāh, I seek refuge in You from an evil day, an evil night, an evil hour, an evil companion, and an evil neighbor in the permanent abode." al-Haythamī said in "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (10/144): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī, and its narrators are those of the authentic collections except for Bishr ibn Thābit al-Bazzār, and he is trustworthy."

- "Seek refuge in Allāh from the punishment of the grave," she said: I said: "O Messenger of Allāh! Are they really punished in their graves?" He said: "Yes, a punishment that the animals can hear." It was recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān (787) and Aḥmad (6/362) through the route of Abū Muʿāwiyah who said: al-Aʿmash narrated to us from Abū Sufyān from Jābir from Umm Mubashshir who said: "The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) entered upon me while I was in a garden of the gardens of Banī al-Najjār, in which there were graves of theirs who had died in the pre-Islamic period, and he heard them being punished, so he left while saying..." and he mentioned it
