to obey Him. He will send a messenger to them saying, 'Enter the fire.' He said: 'By the One in Whose hand is my soul, if they enter it, it will be cool and peaceful for them.' This was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī (79/2) with a sound chain from Qatādah, from al-Aḥnaf ibn Qays, from al-Aswad ibn Sarīʿ, as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. It was also narrated by al-Ḍiyāʾ in "al-Mukhtārah" (1/463) through his route and the route of Aḥmad, and it is in the Musnad (4/24) and Ṣaḥīḥ Ibn Ḥibbān (1827) from this perspective, but Ibn Ḥibbān omitted the name of Qatādah. It is also in the Musnad from Abū Hurayrah, and Ibn Abī ʿĀṣim narrated it in "al-Sunnah" (355 - manuscript copy) through two routes from Abū Rāfiʿ from Abū Hurayrah as a marfūʿ ḥadīth with it, except that he said at the end: 'Whoever enters it, it will be cool and peaceful for him, and whoever does not enter it will be dragged to it.' Its chain is sound, as is the previous one. I found another supporting narration from ʿAṭiyyah, from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, as a marfūʿ ḥadīth similar to it. It was extracted by al-Baghawī in "Ḥadīth Ibn al-Jaʿd" (folio 94/1). It was also extracted by al-Daylamī (1/1/171) through the route of Qatādah, from al-Ḥasan, from al-Aswad ibn Murabbaʿ with it. The ḥadīth of Abū Saʿīd mentions the newborn instead of the deaf person, and it has a supporting narration from the ḥadīth of Anas and Muʿādh, which will be referenced under ḥadīth (2468).

- 'ʿUthmān is in Paradise.' This was narrated by Ibn ʿAsākir (11/101/1) from Ismāʿīl ibn Yaḥyá ibn ʿUbayd Allāh al-Taymī, from Ibn Jurayj, from ʿAṭāʾ, from Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. I say: This al-Taymī is a liar. However, the ḥadīth is authentic, as it has many supporting narrations, the most famous being from the ḥadīth of Saʿīd ibn Zayd (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) as a marfūʿ ḥadīth with the wording:
