I said: This is a chain of narration authentic according to the criteria of al-Bukhārī, and there has been discussion about Ḥazm and Hudbah without evidence. Muslim also recorded it, as did al-Bukhārī in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (41) through the route of ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿUmar with a similar wording, and I have cited the wording of the first of them in the other book (2089).
قلت: وهذا إسناد صحيح على شرط البخاري، وقد تكلم في حزم وهدبة بغير حجة.وقد أخرجه مسلم وكذا البخاري في " الأدب المفرد " (٤١) من طريق عبد اللهابن عمر مرفوعا نحوه، وقد سقت لفظ الأول منهما في الكتاب الآخر (٢٠٨٩) .
- "The most severe form of usury is defaming people's honor." It was narrated by al-Haytham ibn Kulaib in "al-Musnad" (30/2) from Abū Ḥusayn from Nawfal ibn Masāḥiq from Saʿīd ibn Zayd as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. I said: This is an authentic chain of narration, all its narrators are trustworthy, and Ibn Abī Ḥusayn is ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī Ḥusayn, who is trustworthy and from the narrators of the two Shaykhs. There is also a corroborating mursal ḥadīth narrated by ʿAbd al-Razzāq and al-Bayhaqī in "al-Shuʿab" from ʿAmr ibn ʿUthmān as mursal with an addition: "The most severe insult is defamation, and the narrator is one of the insulters": as mentioned in "al-Jāmiʿ al-Ṣaghīr" and al-Munāwī noted that despite being mursal, it is also disconnected. There is another corroboration from the ḥadīth of al-Barāʾ ibn ʿĀzib and Saʿīd ibn Zayd as marfūʿ with the wording: "And the most severe form of usury is a man extending himself into his brother's honor" and Saʿīd added "without right." - " أربى الربا شتم الأعراض ".رواه الهيثم بن كليب في " المسند " (٣٠ / ٢) عن أبي حسين عن نوفل بن مساحق عنسعيد بن زيد مرفوعا.قلت: وهذا إسناد صحيح، رجاله كلهم ثقات، وابن أبي حسين هو عبد الله بن عبدالرحمن بن أبي حسين، وهو ثقة من رجال الشيخين. وللحديث شاهد مرسل رواه عبدالرزاق والبيهقي في " الشعب " عن عمرو ابن عثمان مرسلا بزيادة: " أشد الشتمالهجاء، والراوية أحد الشاتمين ": كذا في " الجامع الصغير " وذكر المناويأنه مع إرساله فهو منقطع أيضا وله شاهد من حديث البراء بن عازب وسعيد بن زيدمرفوعا بلفظ: " وإن أربى الربا استطالة الرجل في عرض أخيه " وزاد سعيد" بغير حق ". انظر الترغيب (٣ / ٢٩٦ - ٢٩٧) .
- "Four will present their case on the Day of Judgment: a deaf man who cannot hear, a foolish man, an elderly man, and one who died during the interval [between prophets]. As for the deaf man, he will say: 'O Lord, Islam came and I could not hear anything.' As for the foolish man, he will say: 'Islam came and the children were throwing dung at me.' As for the elderly man, he will say: 'Islam came and I could not comprehend.' As for the one who died during the interval, he will say: 'O Lord, no messenger of Yours came to me.'
