"I seek refuge in the might and power of Allāh from the evil of what I find." He said: "I said that, and Allāh removed what was with me." It was narrated through the route of Mālik and recorded by Abū Dāwūd (3891), al-Tirmidhī (2/9), and al-Ḥākim (1/343), all from him with it. Al-Tirmidhī said: "A good and authentic ḥadīth." Al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic according to the criteria of isnād, and they did not narrate it with this wording; rather, Muslim narrated it from the ḥadīth of al-Jurayrī from Yazīd ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Shukhayr from ʿUthmān ibn Abī al-ʿĀṣ with different wording."
- "When a servant advises his master and improves his worship of his Lord, he will have his reward twice." Recorded by al-Bukhārī (5/134) and Muslim (5/94) without the full wording, and by Aḥmad (2/18, 20, 102, and 142) through the route of ʿUbayd Allāh from Nāfiʿ from Ibn ʿUmar as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. Usāmah followed him in Muslim, and likewise Mālik, as will be mentioned with the wording: "When the servant advises his master." The ḥadīth has supporting evidence from the ḥadīth of Abū Mūsá and others; refer to (for the kings who do good), (when the servant performs).
- "People must have a leader, and the leader is in the Fire." Recorded by Abū al-Shaykh in "Ṭabaqāt al-Aṣbahāniyyīn" (p. 25) as a suspended narration, and Abū Nuʿaym connected it in "Akhbār Aṣbahān" (2/148) from al-ʿAlāʾ ibn Abī al-ʿAlāʾ - the caretaker of the mosque - who said: "My grandfather Mirdās narrated to me from Anas ibn Mālik who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said." Abū al-Shaykh mentioned it in the biography of Mirdās al-Aṣbahānī without adding more than saying: "the caretaker of the mosque," thus he is unknown, and I have not seen him mentioned in the books of men. However, Abū Yaʿlá recorded it in his "Musnad" (1/410) through another route from ʿĪsá ibn Maymūn, who informed us from Yazīd al-Raqāshī from Anas with it, and Yazīd is weak
