it is permissible, and the photographer is a stranger to them and may be a disbeliever. Then they present their photos to some young men, claiming that they want to propose to them, but the matter ends without a proposal, and the pictures of their daughters remain with them, so they can admire them and quench the heat of youth by looking at them! Woe to the fathers who do not feel protective jealousy. Indeed, to Allāh we belong, and to Him we shall return.

- "O Abū Dharr, shall I not teach you words by which you will catch up with those who have preceded you, and none will surpass you except those who do as you do? Glorify Allāh after every prayer thirty-three times, praise Him thirty-three times, and exalt Him thirty-three times, and conclude with (There is no deity except Allāh, alone, without partner, to Him belongs sovereignty and praise, and He is over all things competent)." Narrated by Abū Dāwūd (1504): ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to us, al-Walīd ibn Muslim narrated to us, al-Awzāʿī narrated to me, Ḥassān ibn ʿAṭiyyah said: Muḥammad ibn Abī ʿĀʾishah narrated to me, Abū Hurayrah said: "Abū Dharr said: O Messenger of Allāh, the wealthy have taken the rewards, they pray as we pray, they fast as we fast, and they have surplus wealth which they give in charity, and we have no wealth to give in charity. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: He mentioned it, and added at the end: 'His sins will be forgiven even if they are like the foam of the sea.'" I said: This isnād is authentic, all its men are trustworthy, the men of the Ṣaḥīḥ, but I am in doubt about the authenticity of this addition in the ḥadīth with this isnād, for Aḥmad narrated it (2/238) with this isnād: al-Walīd narrated it, without it.
