(3/526/3015) Abū Muḥammad al-Jawharī in "al-Fawāʾid al-Muntaqāh" (1/2), al-Ḥākim (1/426), al-Bayhaqī (4/218), and Aḥmad (2/423 and 510) through various chains from Ḥammād ibn Salamah from Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr from Abū Salamah from Abū Hurayrah who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. Al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic according to the criteria of Muslim," and al-Dhahabī agreed with him, but there is some consideration since Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr was only recorded by Muslim when paired with others, so it is ḥasan. Indeed, Ibn ʿAmr was not alone in this, for Ḥammād ibn Salamah also said: from ʿAmmār ibn Abī ʿAmmār from Abū Hurayrah from the Prophet ﷺ similarly, and he added: "And the caller to prayer would call when the dawn broke." It was recorded by Aḥmad (2/510), Ibn Jarīr, and al-Bayhaqī. I say: This isnād is authentic according to the criteria of Muslim. It has many supporting narrations: 1 - A strong mursal support narrated by Ḥammād also from Yūnus from al-Ḥasan from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and he mentioned it. It was recorded by Aḥmad (2/423) alongside his first narration. 2 - Another connected support narrated by al-Ḥusayn ibn Wāqid from Abū Ghālib from Abū Umāmah who said: "The prayer was established while the vessel was in ʿUmar's hand. He said: Shall I drink it, O Messenger of Allāh? He said: Yes, so he drank it." It was recorded by Ibn Jarīr (3/527/3017) with two isnāds from him, and this isnād is ḥasan. 3 - Ibn Lahīʿah narrated from Abū al-Zubayr who said: "I asked Jābir about a man who intends to fast and the vessel is in his hand to drink from it, and he hears the call. Jābir said: We used to talk that the Prophet ﷺ said: Let him drink." It was recorded by Aḥmad (3/348): Mūsá narrated to us, Ibn Lahīʿah narrated to us
