I said: This is a chain of narration that is authentic according to the criteria of Muslim, so the ḥadīth is authentic through this route, and all praise is due to Allāh. Al-Mundhirī said in "al-Targhīb" (1/146): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī with a good chain of narration." Al-Haythamī said (2/249): "Its narrators are trustworthy."
"When a man says to a hypocrite, 'O master,' he has angered his Lord." It was narrated by al-Ḥākim (4/311), Abū Nuʿaym in "Akhbār Aṣbahān" (2/198), and al-Khaṭīb (5/454) from ʿUqbah ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Aṣamm, who reported from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Buraydah from his father in a marfūʿ form. Al-Ḥākim said, "Its chain of narration is authentic," but al-Dhahabī critiqued it by saying, "I say: ʿUqbah is weak." He also said this in "al-Mīzān." It was attributed in "al-Jāmiʿ" to al-Ḥākim and al-Bayhaqī in "al-Shuʿab," and then it was marked as weak. I said: However, this al-Aṣamm was corroborated by Qatādah with the wording: "Do not say to the hypocrite 'our master,'" and it was mentioned earlier under number (370), so it is good with this.

When the servant says: 'There is no deity but Allāh alone,' He says: 'My servant has spoken the truth, there is no deity but Me alone.' When he says: 'There is no deity but Allāh, He has no partner,' He says: 'My servant has spoken the truth, there is no deity but Me, and I have no partner.' When he says: 'There is no deity but Allāh, to Him belongs the dominion and to Him is due all praise,' He says: 'My servant has spoken the truth, there is no deity but Me..
