ʿUqbah: "he mentioned it similarly." meaning in a wording similar to the ḥadīth of Zuhayr: "Samāk ibn Ḥarb narrated to us with the wording: 'Whoever supports his people in wrongdoing is like a camel that falls into a pit and struggles with its tail,'" so he did not narrate the ḥadīth in full. Abū ʿĀmir is ʿAbd al-Malik ibn ʿAmr al-ʿAqdī, the teacher of Aḥmad mentioned earlier. He was followed by Shuʿbah from Samāk ibn Ḥarb with it, except for his saying "and like the one who..." It was recorded by Aḥmad (1/436) and al-Tirmidhī (no. 2258) who said: "A good and authentic ḥadīth."
