I said: This isnād appears to be authentic, as all its narrators are reliable and are the narrators of the two Shaykhs [al-Bukhārī and Muslim]. It has been mentioned that al-Ḥasan ibn Muḥammad, who is the son of ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib, narrated from a group of Companions, including ʿĀʾishah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhā). However, it seems there is an intermediary between them, as al-Ḥākim narrated it (4/523) through the route of ʿAbd Allāh. Sufyān informed us from Jāmiʿ ibn Abī Rāshid from Abū Yaʿlá Mundhir al-Thawrī from al-Ḥasan ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī from a servant of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) who said: "The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) entered upon ʿĀʾishah, or upon some of the wives of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) while I was with him and he said," and he mentioned it. Sufyān is Ibn ʿUyaynah, and Aḥmad also narrated it from him (6/41), but it occurred in it: "from Ḥasan ibn Muḥammad from his wife," so perhaps it is a distortion from "woman." Al-Ḥākim and al-Dhahabī remained silent on it, and it is not good, for the servant, even if not named, is a Companion, a servant of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and all the Companions are trustworthy. Thus, the isnād is authentic whether it is from her from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), or from her from ʿĀʾishah or others as it comes from him (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). It has also come from another route where the servant is named. Abū Nuʿaym narrated it in "al-Ḥilyah" (10/218) through the route of al-Ṭabarānī: Aḥmad ibn Zuhayr ibn Manṣūr al-Ṭūsī narrated to us, Hāshim ibn al-Qāsim narrated to us, Muḥammad ibn Ṭalḥah narrated to us from Zubayd who said: Jāmiʿ ibn Abī Rāshid narrated to me - and his tears were flowing - from Umm Bishr from Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), that she heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say, and he mentioned it. I said: If Aḥmad ibn Zuhayr is al-Nasāʾī the ḥāfiẓ, then he is trustworthy, and if he is someone else - which seems apparent - I do not know him. Those above him are all trustworthy, but I do not know if this is the narration, or if there are two narrators missing between Jāmiʿ and Umm Bishr as indicated by al-Ḥākim's narration. And Allāh knows best. Aḥmad also narrated it (6/294) through the route of Sharīk ibn ʿAbd Allāh from Jāmiʿ with his previous isnād from al-Ḥasan ibn Muḥammad who said: A woman from the Anṣār narrated to me - she is alive today, if you wish I can take you to her, I said: No, narrate to me - she said: I entered upon Umm Salamah and the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) entered upon her... the ḥadīth. Sharīk has poor memory, so only what agrees with the trustworthy narrators is taken from his ḥadīth
