it has a second chain, and Aḥmad said (5/63-64): ʿAffān narrated to us, Ḥammād ibn Salamah narrated to us, Yūnus narrated to us, ʿUbaydah al-Hujaymī narrated to us from Abū Tamīmah al-Hujaymī who said: I came to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and he mentioned something similar, adding at the end: "Do not curse anyone," so I did not curse anyone after him, not even a sheep or a camel. Its narrators are trustworthy, narrators of the authentic collections, except for ʿUbaydah al-Hujaymī who is unknown, and there is a disconnection, for Abū Tamīmah is a Successor, not a Companion, and he narrates it from Abū Juray Jābir ibn Sulaym or Sulaym ibn Jābir. Similarly, it was narrated by Hushaym from Yūnus ibn ʿUbayd with the wording: "Fear Allāh and do not belittle..." It has been previously discussed under number (770). It has another chain from Abū Tamīmah connected with the wording: "Do not curse anyone," and it will be mentioned soon.

- "When you give your family milk to drink in the evening, avoid what Allāh has prohibited of carrion." It was recorded by al-Ḥākim (4/125) and al-Bayhaqī (9/357) from Yaḥyá ibn Yaḥyá who informed us from Khārijah from Thawr from Rāshid ibn Saʿd — the second added: and he gave me a book — from Samurah ibn Jundub (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. Al-Ḥākim said: "The isnād is authentic." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him. I say: It is as they said, except that I fear it may be disconnected between Rāshid ibn Saʿd and Samurah, for there are about fifty years between their deaths. Abū Ḥātim and others mentioned that he did not hear from Thawbān. And Allāh knows best. (Ghabūqan) in "al-Nihāyah": "Ghabūq: drinking at the end of the day, opposite of Ṣabūḥ."
