"When the believer sees what has been expanded for him in his grave, he says: Let me go and give glad tidings to my family, and it is said to him: Remain." Narrated by Aḥmad (3/331) from Abū Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh from al-Aʿmash from Abū Sufyān from Jābir from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). I say: This isnād is good, its men are the men of the authentic collections, and there is some discussion about Abū Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh, but his ḥadīth does not fall below the level of ḥasan. Especially since there is another route narrated by Ibn Lahīʿah from Abū al-Zubayr who asked Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh about the two angels of the grave, and he said: I heard the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: and he mentioned it similarly but longer. Narrated by Aḥmad (3/346). And its men are trustworthy except that Ibn Lahīʿah has poor memory, so he is used for support. It has a supporting narration from the ḥadīth of Anas ibn Mālik, raised to the Prophet, with the wording: "When the believer is placed in his grave, an angel comes to him... and it is said to him: This is your place that was for you in the Fire, but Allāh protected and had mercy on you, and replaced it with a place in Paradise, and he says: Let me go so I can give glad tidings to my family..." the ḥadīth. Narrated by Abū Dāwūd (2/539-540 - Ḥalabī edition) and Aḥmad (3/233) through the route of ʿAbd al-Wahhāb ibn ʿAṭāʾ al-Khuffāf Abū Naṣr from Saʿīd from Qatādah from him. And this isnād is authentic according to the conditions of Muslim, and it is in the "Ṣaḥīḥayn" and others except for the part of the witness. It is a narration for Abū Dāwūd. And it has another supporting narration from the ḥadīth of Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, raised similarly to the ḥadīth of Anas. Narrated by Aḥmad (3/3-4) from ʿAbbād ibn Rāshid from Dāwūd ibn Abī Hind from Abū Naḍrah from him. And this isnād is good, its men are the men of the authentic collections, and there is some discussion about ʿAbbād that does not harm.
