"If Allāh brings you provision without asking or longing for it, then take it, for Allāh has given it to you." It was narrated by Ibn Ḥibbān (856) from Ḥarmalah ibn Yaḥyá who said: Ibn Wahb narrated to us, ʿAmr ibn al-Ḥārith narrated to us that Bakr ibn Suwādah narrated to him that ʿAbd Allāh ibn Yazīd al-Maʿāfirī narrated to him from Qabīṣah ibn Dhūʾayb: "ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb gave al-Saʿdī a thousand dinars, but he refused to accept it and said: We have no need for it. So ʿUmar said to him: I will tell you what the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said to me..." So he mentioned it. I said: This isnād is authentic according to the criteria of Muslim, and he has narrated it in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (no. 1045) through other routes from ʿUmar with similar content, except for the phrase: "a thousand dinars."

"When one of you asks, let him ask for much, for he is asking his Lord." It was narrated by Ibn Ḥibbān (2403) through the route of Abū Aḥmad al-Zubayrī who said: Sufyān narrated to us from Hishām ibn ʿUrwah from his father from ʿĀʾishah who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: So he mentioned it. I said: This isnād is authentic according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs, and al-Zubayrī's name is Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Zubayr ibn ʿUmar al-Asadī al-Zubayrī, their client. ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Mūsá also followed him from Sufyān with similar content, and its wording has already been mentioned under number (1266).

- "There are two types of the people of Hell whom I have not seen: people with whips like the tails of cattle, with which they strike the people, and women who are clothed yet naked, inclining and swaying, with heads like the humps of camels leaning to one side. They will not enter Paradise nor smell its fragrance, though its fragrance can be detected from such and such a distance." It was narrated by Muslim (8/155), al-Bayhaqī (2/234), and Aḥmad (2/355). -
