It was recorded by Aḥmad (2/176-177) I said: Its narrators are trustworthy except for Ibn Lahīʿah, as his memory is poor.

"When you leave your house, perform two rakʿahs [units of prayer] to protect you from a bad exit, and when you enter your house, perform two rakʿahs to protect you from a bad entry." It was narrated by al-Mukhliṣ in "Ḥadīth" as in "al-Muntaqá minhu" (12/69/1), and al-Bazzār in (al-Musnad) (81), and al-Daylamī in (his Musnad) (1/1/108). (See al-Istidrāk no. 315/7). And al-Ḥāfiẓ ʿAbd al-Ghanī al-Maqdisī in (Akhbār al-Ṣalāh) (67/1, 68/2) through the chains from Muʿādh ibn Faḍālah, who narrated to us from Yaḥyá ibn Ayyūb al-Miṣrī, from Bakr ibn ʿAmr, from Ṣafwān ibn Sulaym - Bakr said: I think - from Abū Salamah, from Abū Hurayrah, from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) who said: and he mentioned it, and al-Bazzār said: "We do not know it to be narrated from Abū Hurayrah except through this route." I said: This isnād is good; its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of al-Bukhārī, and there is a slight criticism of Yaḥyá ibn Ayyūb al-Miṣrī that does not harm [the narration]. And al-Haythamī said in "Zawāʾid al-Bazzār": "Its narrators are reliable." And al-Munāwī said in "al-Fayḍ": "Ibn Ḥajar said: It is a ḥasan ḥadīth, and if it were not for Bakr's doubt, it would meet the criteria of ṣaḥīḥ. And al-Haythamī said: Its narrators are reliable. End of quote, and by this, Ibn al-Jawzī's leniency in his judgment of its fabrication is known."
