It was recorded by al-Bayhaqī and al-Tirmidhī (2/279) who said: "A good and rare ḥadīth." And I say: Rather, it is objectionable and weak, for ʿUmar ibn Rāshid, who is Abū Ḥafṣ al-Yamāmī, although weak by consensus, contradicted ʿAlī ibn al-Mubārak in both the chain and the text as we mentioned. As for the chain, he mentioned Abū Salamah instead of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Yaʿqūb. As for the text, he omitted the interpretation of (al-mufridūn) and added his saying: "the remembrance removes..." It is no wonder that Aḥmad and others said: "He narrated from Yaḥyá and others with objectionable ḥadīths." Therefore, al-Bayhaqī said after it: "The first isnād is more authentic." There is another route for the ḥadīth narrated by al-ʿAlāʾ ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān from his father from Abū Hurayrah who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) was traveling on the road to Makkah, and he passed by a mountain called: (Jumadān), and he said: "Proceed, this is Jumadān, the mufridūn have preceded." They said: And who are the mufridūn, O Messenger of Allāh? He said: "Those who remember Allāh much, both men and women." It was narrated by Muslim (8/63) and al-Bayhaqī (1/313-314). Explanation of the ḥadīth: 1 - (al-mufridūn): meaning those who are singular or unique. Ibn al-Athīr said: "It is said: he was singular in his opinion, and he was singular and unique, meaning he was alone in it." Al-Nawawī (may Allāh have mercy on him) said: "The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) explained them as (those who remember Allāh much, both men and women), and its estimation is: and the women who remember, so the hāʾ was omitted here as it was omitted in the Qurʾān for the sake of the rhyme of the verse and because they are an object that can be omitted." And this explanation is the intended meaning of the ḥadīth."
