and Aḥmad (vol. 2, nos. 745 and 882) and his son in "Zawāʾid al-Musnad" (vol. 1, nos. 1279, 1280, 1281, and 1282) from Sharīk, from Simāk ibn Ḥarb, from Ḥanash, from ʿAlī (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. The wording is Aḥmad's. al-Ḥākim said: "Its isnād is ṣaḥīḥ." al-Dhahabī agreed with him. Thus they both said. However, there is some scrutiny, as Ḥanash, who is Ibn al-Muʿtamir, has some discussion about him, and in "Taqrīb" it is mentioned that he is "truthful but makes mistakes and sends [ḥadīths]." Sharīk has poor memory, but he has been corroborated with the wording: "When two men come to you for judgment." I have documented it in "al-Irwāʾ" (2667). The ḥadīth was also narrated by Ibn Ḥibbān, who authenticated it as well, as mentioned in Nayl al-Awṭār (8/228).

- "When one of you sits to relieve himself, let him not face the qiblah nor turn his back to it." It was recorded by Muslim (1/155) through the route of Suhayl, from al-Qaʿqāʿ, from Abū Ṣāliḥ, from Abū Hurayrah as a marfūʿ ḥadīth, and it was narrated by Ibn ʿAjlān from al-Qaʿqāʿ in a more complete form with the wording: "I am to you like a father." It is documented in "al-Mishkāt" (347) and "Ṣaḥīḥ Abī Dāwūd" (6).

- "None of you should make his brother stand on Friday and then take his place and sit in it, but rather say: 'Make room.'" Authentic from the ḥadīth of Jābir as a marfūʿ ḥadīth, and there are three routes from him: The first: from Abū al-Zubayr from him as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. Recorded by Muslim (7/10) and Aḥmad (3/342). The second: from Sulaymān ibn Mūsá who said: Jābir informed me of it. Recorded by Aḥmad (3/295). I say: Its isnād is ḥasan, and its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of the two Shaykhs except for Sulaymān, who is according to Muslim's criteria, but al-Ḥāfiẓ said: "Truthful, a jurist, but his ḥadīth has some weakness."
