Ibn ʿUmar, ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿĀmir informed us from Muḥammad ibn al-Munkadir from Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said, and he mentioned it. I said: This isnād is weak, its narrators are trustworthy according to the standards of the two Shaykhs except for ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿĀmir, who is weak, but he is not alone in this narration. It was also narrated by al-Ḥākim (1/399) through the route of Ayyūb ibn Sulaymān ibn Bilāl (1) who said: Abū Bakr narrated to me from Sulaymān ibn Bilāl who said: Zayd ibn Aslam said Muḥammad ibn al-Munkadir narrated it, and he said: "Authentic according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs," and al-Dhahabī agreed with him. I said: Muslim did not narrate anything from Ayyūb ibn Sulaymān. And Abū Bakr, his name is ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Uways al-Aṣbaḥī, well-known by his kunyah, and he is trustworthy according to both of them. It has a supporting narration from Ibn ʿUmar, raised to the Prophet, except for the beginning. Narrated by Ibn ʿAdī (Q 174/2). Its isnād is acceptable for supporting narrations. It has another supporting narration from Abū Hurayrah, raised, similar to the wording of the chapter title. Narrated by Ibn Ḥibbān (2465) and Aḥmad (2/235) through the route of Muḥammad ibn Isḥāq from Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm from Abū Salamah from him who said: "We do not know it except with this wording with a better isnād than this." I said: It is good except for the ʿanʿanah of Ibn Isḥāq. Narrated by al-Bazzār (240). It is a narration for Ibn Ḥibbān (1919) and Aḥmad (2/403) from this route with the wording: "characteristics" instead of "actions." This wording has a supporting narration in "the two Ṣaḥīḥs" and others, as mentioned earlier (286).
