It was narrated by Tamām in "al-Fawāʾid" (3/2): Khaythamah ibn Sulaymān informed us, Abū Jaʿfar Aḥmad ibn Ḥātim al-Qāḍī - in Sāmarrā - narrated to us, ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿUmar al-Qawārīrī narrated to us, Yaḥyá ibn Saʿīd al-Qaṭṭān narrated to us, ʿAwf narrated from Abū Naḍrah from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī in a marfūʿ ḥadīth. I said: This isnād is good; its men are trustworthy, the men of Muslim, except for Aḥmad ibn Ḥātim al-Qāḍī al-Sāmarāʾī, whom al-Khaṭīb translated (4/114) and said: "I know nothing of his condition except good." And Khaythamah ibn Sulaymān is a trustworthy ḥāfiẓ.

"The first prophet sent was Noah." It was narrated by al-Daylamī in "Musnad" (1/1/9) and Ibn ʿAsākir in "Tārīkh" (17/326/2) from Ibrāhīm ibn Abī Suwayd: Abū ʿAwānah informed us from Qatādah from Anas that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said it, and he mentioned it. I said: This isnād is weak; its men are trustworthy except for this Ibrāhīm, who is Ibn al-Faḍl al-Makhzūmī al-Madanī, and he is weak, rather abandoned. But the ḥadīth is authentic, as it has a strong corroborating narration from Abū Hurayrah in a marfūʿ ḥadīth in the long ḥadīth of intercession, where it is mentioned: "They will come to Noah and say: O Noah, you are the first messenger to the earth." It was extracted by Muslim (1/327) and al-Tirmidhī (2436) who said: "This is a ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ ḥadīth."

"Indeed, when Allāh bestows a blessing upon a servant, He loves to see the effect of His blessing on His servant." It was narrated by Ibn Saʿd (4/291 and 7/10), al-Ṭaḥāwī in "al-Mushkil" (4/151), and al-Bayhaqī in "al-Shuʿab" (2/221/1) from Mufaḍḍal ibn Faḍālah, a man from Quraysh, from Abū Rajāʾ al-ʿAṭṭāridī, who said: ʿImrān ibn Ḥuṣayn came out to us in a striped cloak that we had never seen on him before or after, and he mentioned it in a marfūʿ ḥadīth
