- "Whoever swears by trustworthiness is not one of us." Narrated by Abū Dāwūd (3253): Aḥmad ibn Yūnus narrated to us, Zuhair narrated to us, al-Walīd ibn Thaʿlabah al-Ṭāʾī narrated from Ibn Buraydah from his father who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: I say: This isnād is authentic, all its men are trustworthy. There are two Ibn Buraydahs: ʿAbd Allāh and Sulaymān, and the first is more reliable and has been relied upon by the two Shaykhs. Zuhair is Ibn Muʿāwiyah Abū Khaythamah al-Kūfī and he is trustworthy, also relied upon by the two Shaykhs. Similarly, Aḥmad ibn Yūnus, whose father's name is ʿAbd Allāh ibn Yūnus. Al-Walīd ibn Thaʿlabah was deemed trustworthy by Ibn Maʿīn and Ibn Ḥibbān, and his ḥadīth was included in "Ṣaḥīḥ" (1318)
