"There will come upon my nation after me tribulations like pieces of a dark night, wherein a man will be a believer in the morning and a disbeliever by evening, or a believer in the evening and a disbeliever by morning, selling their religion for a small worldly gain." It was recorded by al-Ḥākim (4/438) from Kathīr ibn Murrah from Ibn ʿUmar as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. He said: "The chain of narration is authentic," and al-Dhahabī agreed with him. And it is as they said. It has supporting narrations, so refer to "Bādīrū..." number (758).

"A man does not give his charity until he breaks the jaws of seventy devils with it." It was narrated by Ibn Khuzaymah in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (1/248/2), al-Ḥākim (1/417), Aḥmad (5/350), and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" (1/90/1 - Zawāʾid al-Muʿjamayn) from Abū Muʿāwiyah Muḥammad ibn Khāzim from al-Aʿmash from Ibn Buraydah from his father as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. Al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic according to the conditions of the two Shaykhs." And al-Dhahabī agreed with him.

- "When a curse comes out of the mouth of its owner, it looks for a path. If it finds a way to the one it was directed at, otherwise it returns to the one who uttered it." It was recorded by Aḥmad (1/408) and al-Bayhaqī in "al-Shuʿab" (2/92/2) through two chains from ʿUmar ibn Dharr from al-ʿAyzār ibn Jarūl al-Ḥaḍramī who said: "There was a man among us called Abū ʿUmayr, and he was a companion of ʿAbdullāh (meaning Ibn Masʿūd). ʿAbdullāh used to visit him at his home. Once, he went to visit him but did not find him at home, so he entered upon his wife. While he was with her, she sent her servant girl on an errand, but she delayed in returning. She said, 'She has delayed, may Allāh curse her!' ʿAbdullāh then left and sat at the door
