as for the chains of narration of the ḥadīth to Anas, which al-Ḥākim referred to, al-Khaṭīb narrated it in "al-Tārīkh" (3/49, 306, and 13/127) through three routes from him, and they are extremely weak, so we will not prolong the discussion by extracting them. the ḥadīth has a supporting narration from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, elevated to the Prophet, but it is very weak. it was narrated by ʿAbd ibn Ḥumayd in "al-Muntaqá min al-Musnad" (110/2) through the route of Ibrāhīm Abū Isḥāq from Abū Naḍrah from him. this chain is very weak; this Ibrāhīm is Ibn al-Faḍl, who is abandoned as mentioned in "al-Taqrīb". in summary, the ḥadīth is ḥasan, if Allāh wills, due to the route of Baqiyyah, which was extracted by al-Ḍiyāʾ in "al-Mukhtārah". "When one of you lies on his back, he should not place one of his legs over the other." It was narrated by al-Tirmidhī (2/127): ʿUbayd ibn Asbāṭ ibn Muḥammad al-Qurashī narrated to us, my father narrated to us, Sulaymān al-Taymī narrated from Khudāsh from Abū al-Zubayr from Jābir who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said it, and he mentioned it. and he said: "This ḥadīth was narrated by more than one person from Sulaymān al-Taymī, and this Khudāsh is not known, who is he?" it was also narrated by al-Ṭaḥāwī in "Sharḥ al-Maʿānī" (2/360) through another route from al-Taymī with it. I said: and it was narrated by al-Bazzār in "Musnad" (p. 249 - Zawāʾid) Qays ibn Ādam narrated to us, my grandfather Azhar ibn Saʿd narrated from Sulaymān al-Taymī from Khudāsh from Abū al-Zubayr from Jābir from Ibn ʿAbbās who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said it, and he mentioned it, and he said: "It was narrated once (!) from Jābir from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and no one said from Jābir from Ibn ʿAbbās except Azhar, and Khudāsh is from Baṣrah, we do not know anyone who narrated from him except al-Taymī and Muḥammad ibn Thābit al-Baṣrī, and he was considered trustworthy."
