"when one of you touches his private part with his hand and there is no barrier or cover between them, let him perform ablution." It was recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān (210) with this wording, and also by al-Dāraqutnī (53) and al-Bayhaqī (1/133), and the isnād of Ibn Ḥibbān is good. Al-Bayhaqī also has another supporting narration from Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Thawbān, reported as mursal.
"let one of you eat with his right hand, drink with his right hand, take with his right hand, and give with his right hand, for indeed, Satan eats with his left hand, drinks with his left hand, gives with his left hand, and takes with his left hand." It was recorded by Ibn Mājah (2/303), narrated by Hishām ibn ʿAmmār, narrated by al-Haql ibn Ziyād, narrated by Hishām ibn Ḥassān from Yaḥyá ibn Abī Kathīr from Abū Salamah from Abū Hurayrah that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said it, and he mentioned it. Al-Būṣīrī said in "Zawāʾid" (197/1): "This isnād is authentic, its men are trustworthy!" I say: all of them are trustworthy, from the men of the two Shaykhs, except for al-Haql ibn Ziyād, who is from the men of Muslim only, and Hishām is from the men of al-Bukhārī alone, but he has some weakness. Al-Ḥāfiẓ said in "Taqrīb": "Truthful, a reciter who became senile and started to be prompted." However, the ḥadīth is authentic, if Allāh wills, as it has come in separate parts through other routes. It was narrated by al-Nuʿmān ibn Rāshid al-Jazarī from Ibn Shihāb from Ibn al-Musayyib from Abū Hurayrah, reported as elevated in a concise form with the wording: "when one of you eats, let him eat with his right hand and drink with his right hand, for indeed, Satan eats with his left hand and drinks with his left hand." It was recorded by Aḥmad (2/325/349) through two routes from him. I say: it is according to the conditions of Muslim, but this al-Nuʿmān has poor memory as al-Ḥāfiẓ said
