I said: As for this al-Kawthar, al-Dāraqutnī and others said: It is abandoned. However, it was corroborated by al-Sāmī as you see, and he is trustworthy, and his name is ʿAbd al-Aʿlá ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlá. But in the chain to him is Zakariyyā ibn Yaḥyá al-Manqarī, and I did not find a biography for him.

"I am pleased for my community with what Ibn Umm ʿAbd is pleased for it." It was narrated by al-Ḥākim (3/317-318) and from him by Ibn ʿAsākir in the session (280) of "al-Amālī" (3/2) through the route of Zāʾidah from Manṣūr ibn al-Muʿtamir from Zayd ibn Wahb from ʿAbdullāh who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said it, and he mentioned it. He said: "This isnād is authentic according to the conditions of the two shaykhs," and al-Dhahabī agreed with him, and it is as they said. However, they mentioned a defect in it, which is that Sufyān and Isrāʾīl narrated it from Manṣūr from al-Qāsim ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said it, and he mentioned it as mursal. It was also narrated by al-Ḥākim and similarly by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Kabīr" as in "al-Majmaʿ" (9/290). I said: And this is not a detrimental defect because Zāʾidah, who is Ibn Qudāmah, is trustworthy and reliable as in "al-Taqrīb," and he brought an addition that must be accepted, especially since it is from another shaykh of Manṣūr other than his shaykh in the narration of Sufyān and Isrāʾīl from him. This indicates that Manṣūr had two shaykhs in it, one connected it and the other narrated it as mursal, which strengthens the connected narration as is apparent. The ḥadīth was also narrated with an addition in the wording: "And I disliked for my community what Ibn Umm ʿAbd disliked for it." It was said in "al-Majmaʿ" (9/290): "It was narrated by al-Bazzār and al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Awsaṭ' with the dislike abbreviated, and he narrated it in 'al-Kabīr' with a broken chain, and in the isnād of al-Bazzār is Muḥammad ibn Ḥumayd al-Rāzī, who is trustworthy but disputed, and the rest of its narrators are considered trustworthy." A corroborating narration was mentioned from the ḥadīth of Abū al-Dardāʾ, and it includes an explanation of the reason for the ḥadīth, with the wording: "I am pleased with what Allāh the Exalted is pleased for me and my community, Ibn Umm ʿAbd." It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī from Abū al-Dardāʾ who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) delivered a brief sermon, and when he finished his sermon, he said: O Abū Bakr, stand and deliver a sermon, and he was shorter than the Messenger of Allāh
