I said: And its isnād is good; its men are the men of al-Bukhārī, except that he only included Ḥumayd ibn al-Aswad—also known as Abū al-Aswad—when paired with others, and there is a slight discussion about him indicated by al-Ḥāfiẓ's statement: "Truthful, but makes minor mistakes." And ʿAbd Allāh, his grandson, who is the son of Muḥammad ibn Abī al-Aswad, is trustworthy.
"Do you know where I am sending you? To the people of Allāh, who are the people of Makkah. Forbid them from four things: from a sale combined with a loan, from two conditions in a sale, from profit without liability, and from selling what you do not possess." "It was recorded by al-Baghawī in 'Ḥadīth of ʿĪsá ibn Sālim al-Shāshī' (p. 108/1), narrated to us by ʿĪsá, who narrated from ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿAmr from Zayd ibn Abī Unaysah from ʿAmr ibn Shuʿayb from his father from his grandfather ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ: that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) sent ʿItāb ibn Usayd to Makkah, and said: and he mentioned it." I said: And this isnād is good; all its men are trustworthy and well-known from the men of "al-Tahdhīb," except for ʿĪsá ibn Sālim al-Shāshī, whom Ibn Abī Ḥātim mentioned in "al-Jarḥ wa-al-Taʿdīl" (3/278) and nicknamed (Abū Saʿīd), saying: "His nickname is (ʿUways), and he narrated from ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿAmr. Abū Zurʿah narrated from him." And he did not mention any criticism or praise about him. However, Abū Zurʿah only narrates from trustworthy individuals. And the ḥadīth is authentic, as it has been transmitted through other routes from ʿAmr ibn Shuʿayb without the story of the sending of ʿItāb ibn Usayd (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu). It was recorded by the authors of the Sunan, Aḥmad, and al-Ḥākim (2/17) who authenticated it, and I have included it in "Aḥādīth al-Buyūʿ," "al-Mishkāt" (2870), and "Irwāʾ al-Ghalīl" (1293)
