4 - As for the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah, it is narrated by Ibn Lahīʿah from Ḥunayn ibn Abī Ḥakīm from Ṣafwān ibn Sulaym from Abū Salamah from him. It was recorded by Ibn ʿAdī (vol. 112/2). Ibn Lahīʿah has poor memory, while those above him are reliable. I have found another route for it, narrated by al-Bazzār in "his Musnad" (p. 239 - its additions): Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥuṣayn narrated to us, Muzāḥim ibn al-ʿAwām ibn Muzāḥim narrated to us, Muḥammad ibn ʿUmar narrated (and) from Abū Salamah from him. He said: "We do not know it from Abū Hurayrah except through this route, and Muzāḥim is unique in narrating it." I said: I did not find a biography for him, and it has been narrated through other routes as mentioned earlier. Al-Haythamī said in "al-Majmaʿ" (8/16): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Awsaṭ' and al-Bazzār, and there are those in it whom I do not recognize." I found a third route for it, recorded by Ibn ʿAdī (343/2) from Muṭṭalib ibn Shuʿayb: Abū Ṣāliḥ narrated to us, al-Layth narrated to us from Yūnus from Ibn Shihāb from Abū Salamah from Abū Hurayrah. He mentioned it in the biography of this Muṭṭalib, and said: "I have not seen any rejected ḥadīth from him except this one, and it is very rejected with this isnād." 5 - As for the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿAbbās, it is narrated by Mālik ibn al-Ḥasan from ʿUtbah from ʿIkrimah from Ibn ʿAbbās. It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (1/136/2) and its narrators are reliable except for Mālik ibn al-Ḥasan (in the original: al-Ḥusayn), who is Mālik ibn al-Ḥasan ibn Mālik ibn al-Ḥuwayrith. Al-Haythamī said: (see al-Istidrāk 206/18) "and there is weakness in it." ʿUtbah is Ibn Yaqẓān. Ibn Abī Ḥātim said (3/1/374): "I heard Ibn al-Junayd say: He is worth nothing." Al-Haythamī mentioned that it was also narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ," and the apparent meaning of his words is that it is through a different route, but he did not comment on it
