- "He used to recite in the ẓuhr and ʿaṣr prayers: *'Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High'* and *'Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming event?'*". It was recorded by al-Bazzār in "his Musnad" (61 - its additions), narrated to us by Muḥammad ibn Muʿammar, narrated to us by Rūḥ ibn ʿUbādah, narrated to us by Ḥammād ibn Salamah from Thābit and Qatādah from Ḥumayd from Anas that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam).... And he said: "Authentic". I said: Its isnād is authentic according to the criteria of the two shaykhs except for Ḥammād ibn Salamah, who is according to the criteria of Muslim alone, but it is strange from the narration of Thābit from Ḥumayd, so perhaps the original is: "and Ḥumayd". And Allāh knows best.

- "I am only a human being, and you dispute before me, and perhaps some of you are more eloquent in presenting their argument than others, so I judge according to what I hear from them. So if I judge for someone to have something from his brother's right, let him not take anything, for I am only cutting for him a piece of the Fire." It was recorded by al-Bukhārī (3/162, 8/62, and 112), Mālik (2/197), and Abū Dāwūd (2/115) from Hishām ibn ʿUrwah from ʿUrwah from Zaynab bint Umm Salamah from Umm Salamah in marfūʿ form. And it has been reported from Hishām with the wording: "You dispute before me," and it has passed under number (455), and al-Zuhrī followed him with the wording:
