and this is supported by the fact that Aḥmad narrated another ḥadīth from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Shibl with this isnād correctly from the route of Hammām and ʿAffān, who said: Yaḥyá ibn Abī Kathīr narrated to us from Zayd, from Abū Salām, from Abū Rāshid al-Ḥabranī, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Shibl. And Allāh knows best.

- "The rider should greet the one who is walking, and if one among a group gives the greeting, it suffices for them." Mālik narrated it from Zayd ibn Aslam that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said it, and he mentioned it. Zayd ibn Aslam is a trustworthy scholar from the six narrators, and he used to send [ḥadīths], and this is one of his mursal narrations. It has a corroborating narration, but with a weak isnād, from al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī who said: It was said, O Messenger of Allāh: a group comes to the house, and one of them seeks permission; does it suffice for all of them? He said: Yes. It was said: If one of the group responds, does it suffice for all? He said: Yes. It was said: If a group passes by and one of them gives the greeting, does it suffice for all? He said: Yes. It was said: If one of the group responds, does it suffice for all? He said: Yes. It was mentioned in "al-Majmaʿ" and he said: "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī, and in it is Kathīr ibn Yaḥyá, who is weak." However, the ḥadīth has another corroborating narration from ʿAlī, found in "al-Irwāʾ."

- "The young should greet the old, the one passing by should greet the one sitting, and the few should greet the many." It was narrated by al-Bukhārī, Abū Dāwūd, and al-Tirmidhī, who authenticated it, and Aḥmad from the route of Hammām ibn Munabbih from Abū Hurayrah as marfūʿ. It has another route in al-Bukhārī's "al-Adab al-Mufrad," where he said: Aḥmad ibn Abī ʿAmr narrated to us, he said: My father narrated to me, he said: Ibrāhīm narrated to me from Mūsá ibn ʿUqbah from Ṣafwān ibn Sulaym from ʿAṭāʾ ibn Yasār from Abū Hurayrah as marfūʿ, except that he said: "and the one walking should greet the one sitting." This isnād is authentic; all its narrators are from al-Bukhārī's "Ṣaḥīḥ," and he narrated it in it as muʿallaq from Ibrāhīm ibn Ṭahmān with it.
