and this isnād is acceptable as supporting evidence. There is another path for the ḥadīth with a different wording from ʿĀʾishah, which will be mentioned in what follows. (al-ṭilāʾ) In "al-Nihāyah," it is said: "with a kasrah and lengthening: the cooked drink from grape juice, which is the syrup." Then he mentioned the ḥadīth and said: "This is similar to the other ḥadīth: people from my nation will drink wine, calling it by other than its name. He means: they will drink intoxicating nabīdh, cooked, and call it ṭilāʾ, avoiding calling it wine." There is a sound witness for the ḥadīth with the wording: "A group from my nation will deem wine permissible by calling it a name they give it, (and in another narration): they call it by other than its name."

It was recorded by Ibn Mājah (3385), Aḥmad (5/318), and Ibn Abī al-Dunyā in "Dhamm al-Muskir" (Q 4/2) from Saʿīd ibn Aws al-Kātib from Bilāl ibn Yaḥyá al-ʿAbsī from Abū Bakr ibn Ḥafṣ from Ibn Muḥayriz from Thābit ibn al-Ṣamṭ from ʿUbādah ibn al-Ṣāmit who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said. I say: This isnād is good, all its men are trustworthy, and Ibn Muḥayriz's name is ʿAbd Allāh. He is a trustworthy narrator from the two Shaykhs. And Abū Bakr ibn Ḥafṣ is ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ḥafṣ ibn ʿUmar ibn Saʿd ibn Abī Waqqāṣ, and he is trustworthy, relied upon in the "Ṣaḥīḥayn" as well. And Bilāl ibn Yaḥyá al-ʿAbsī, Ibn Maʿīn said:
