and Suwayd ibn Saʿīd, who is al-Anbārī, the ḥāfiẓ said: "He is truthful in himself, but he became blind and started accepting what was not from his ḥadīth, and Ibn Maʿīn spoke harshly about him." I said: It may indicate his mistake or the mistake of his teacher that the story occurred with Abū Hurayrah and ʿUmar (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhumā), as narrated by Muslim (1/44-45) through the route of ʿIkrimah ibn ʿAmmār, who said: Abū Hurayrah told me: "We were sitting around the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) with us Abū Bakr and ʿUmar... He said: O Abū Hurayrah - and he gave me his sandals, he said - Go with these two sandals, and whoever you meet behind this wall who testifies that there is no deity but Allāh, with certainty in his heart, give him the glad tidings of Paradise. The first one I met was ʿUmar, and he said... " the ḥadīth is similar. This supports the authenticity of the ḥadīth of the chapter, but ʿIkrimah ibn ʿAmmār, although Muslim narrated from him, there is much discussion about him, and the ḥāfiẓ said: He is truthful but makes mistakes, and in his narration from Yaḥyá ibn Abī Kathīr there is inconsistency, and he did not have a book." Al-Suyūṭī mentioned for it in "al-Jāmiʿ al-Kabīr" (1/27/2) a supporting narration from the ḥadīth of Abū al-Dardāʾ from the narration of al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr." Its origin is in "Muslim" (1/66) from the ḥadīth of Abū Dharr. Then I found the story also occurred with Jābir and ʿUmar (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhumā) and in it Jābir said: "The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) sent me and said: Announce to the people: Whoever says there is no deity but Allāh enters Paradise, so he went out, and ʿUmar met him on the road..." the ḥadīth is similar. Ibn Ḥibbān narrated it (7 - its additions) with a sound isnād. Perhaps the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) commanded a group of Companions to announce this, and ʿUmar met them, and what happened between them happened. And Allāh knows best. As for what was narrated by Abū Yaʿlá and al-Bazzār from ʿUmar (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) commanded him to announce to the people that whoever testifies that there is no deity but Allāh alone with no partner, sincerely, enters Paradise, ʿUmar said: O Messenger of Allāh: Then they will rely on it, he said: Leave them. Al-Haythamī said in "al-Majmaʿ" (1/17):
