this report, according to them, is connected to the original ḥadīth through two chains from Marwān. And this is the more authentic, if Allāh wills. Al-Mundhirī attributed the ḥadīth in "al-Targhīb" (4/162) only to Ibn Khuzaymah in his "Ṣaḥīḥ"! There is another chain with Ibn ʿAsākir from ʿAṭāʾ ibn Yasār from Abū Hurayrah similar to it. Part of it is corroborated by the ḥadīth of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī Bakr with the wording: "Is there anyone among you who fed a poor person today? Abū Bakr (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) said: I entered the mosque and saw a beggar asking, so I found a piece of bread in the hand of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, took it from him, and gave it to him." It was narrated by Abū Dāwūd and others, and its chain is weak as I have clarified in "al-Ḍaʿīfah" (1400). It highlights the virtue of Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) and the glad tidings for him of Paradise, and there are many good ḥadīths regarding this. It also highlights the virtue of combining these qualities in one day, and that their combination in a person is a sign of glad tidings for him of Paradise. May Allāh make us among its people.
