and whenever a man refrains from prayer until he is killed, he does not internally acknowledge its obligation nor commit to performing it. This person is considered a disbeliever by consensus of the Muslims, as the reports from the Companions regarding the disbelief of such a person are widespread, and the authentic texts indicate this... So whoever persists in abandoning it until he dies, never prostrating to Allāh even once, this person can never be a Muslim acknowledging its obligation. For the belief in its obligation and the belief that the one who abandons it deserves to be killed is a complete motivation to perform it. And motivation, along with capability, necessitates the existence of the action. If he is capable and never performs it, it is known that the motivation in his case does not exist.
