I said: Rather, he is abandoned, accused of lying, but he is not the one who narrated this ḥadīth; rather, it is al-Qārī, as explicitly stated in the narration of Ibn Naṣr mentioned.
قلت: بل هو متروك متهم بالكذب لكن ليس هو صاحب هذا الحديث وإنما هو القاريكما صرحت به رواية ابن نصر المذكورة.
"A group from my community will continue to fight for the cause of Allāh, prevailing over their enemies, and those who oppose them will not harm them until the Hour comes upon them while they are in that state." This was recorded by Muslim (6/54) through the route of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Shamāsah al-Mahrī who said: I was with Maslamah ibn Mukhallad and with him was ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ. ʿAbd Allāh said: The Hour will not be established except upon the worst of creation, who are worse than the people of ignorance; they will not call upon Allāh for anything except that He will reject it upon them. While they were in that state, ʿUqbah ibn ʿĀmir approached, and Maslamah said to him: O ʿUqbah, listen to what ʿAbd Allāh is saying. ʿUqbah said: He knows better, but as for me, I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: and he mentioned the ḥadīth. ʿAbd Allāh said: Indeed, then Allāh will send a wind like the fragrance of musk, its touch like silk, and it will not leave a soul in whose heart is the weight of a grain of faith except that it will seize it, and then the worst of people will remain, upon whom the Hour will be established. Al-Ḥākim included it (4/456-457) in his collection, considering it a supplement to Muslim, but he erred.
" لا تزال عصابة من أمتي يقاتلون على أمر الله قاهرين لعدوهم لا يضرهم من خالفهم حتى تأتيهم الساعة وهم على ذلك ". أخرجه مسلم (٦ / ٥٤) من طريق عبد الرحمن بن شماسة المهري قال: كنت عند مسلمة ابن مخلد وعنده عبد الله بن عمرو بن العاص، فقال عبد الله: لا تقوم الساعة إلا على شرار الخلق هم شر من أهل الجاهلية، لا يدعون الله بشيء إلا رده عليهم. فبينما هم على ذلك أقبل عقبة بن عامر فقال له مسلمة: يا عقبة اسمع ما يقول عبد الله. فقال عقبة: هو أعلم، وأما أنا فسمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: فذكر الحديث، فقال عبد الله أجل، ثم يبعث الله ريحا كريح المسك، مسها مس الحرير، فلا تترك نفسا في قلبه مثقال حبة من الإيمان إلا قبضته، ثم يبقى شرار الناس عليهم تقوم الساعة. واستدركه الحاكم (٤ / ٤٥٦ - ٤٥٧) على مسلم فوهم.
"Do not insult anyone, nor belittle any act of goodness, and when you speak to your brother, do so with a cheerful face, for that is part of goodness. Raise your lower garment to the middle of your shins, and if you refuse, then to the ankles. Beware of trailing the garment, for it is from arrogance, and Allāh does not love arrogance. If a person insults you and criticizes you for something he knows about you, do not criticize him for what you know about him, for the burden of that is upon him." This was recorded by Abū Dāwūd (2/179), al-Tirmidhī (2/120), and al-Dūlābī in "al-Kuná wa-al-Asmāʾ" (p. 66) through the route of Abū Ghafār who narrated to us from Abū Tamīmah al-Hujaymī from Abū Juray Jābir ibn Sulaym who said: I saw a man to whom people referred for his opinion; he would not say anything except that they would refer to him. I asked: Who is this? They said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). I said: Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allāh, twice,
" لا تسبن أحدا ولا تحقرن شيئا من المعروف وأن تكلم أخاك وأنت منبسط إليه وجهك إن ذلك من المعروف، وارفع إزارك إلى نصف الساق، فإن أبيت فإلى الكعبين وإياك وإسبال الإزار فإنها من المخيلة وإن الله لا يحب المخيلة وإن امرؤ شتمك وعيرك بما يعلم فيك فلا تعيره بما تعلم فيه، فإنما وبال ذلك عليه ". أخرجه أبو داود (٢ / ١٧٩) والترمذي (٢ / ١٢٠) والدولابي في " الكنى والأسماء " (ص ٦٦) من طريق أبي غفار حدثنا أبو تميمة الهجيمي عن أبي جري جابر بن سليم قال: رأيت رجلا يصدر الناس عن رأيه لا يقول شيئا. إلا صدورا عنه، قلت: من هذا؟ قالوا: رسول الله ﷺ، قلت: عليك السلام يا رسول الله، مرتين،
