It was recorded by Ibn Saʿd (2/347): Abū Bakr ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī Uways al-Madanī informed us, [saying] Sulaymān ibn Bilāl narrated to me from ʿAmr ibn Abī ʿAmr. I said: This is a sound mursal isnād, all its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of the two Shaykhs, and Abū Bakr's name is ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd. The other: from ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿUmārah ibn Ghaziyyah from him with it. It was recorded by Abū Nuʿaym (1/229) through the route of Abū ʿAbbās al-Thaqafī, who said: Qutaybah ibn Saʿīd narrated to us: ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Muḥammad narrated to us. I said: This isnād's narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of Muslim, and Abū al-ʿAbbās al-Thaqafī is Muḥammad ibn Isḥāq al-Sarrāj al-Ḥāfiẓ, so it is also a sound mursal isnād, but Yaḥyá ibn Ayyūb differed, saying: from ʿUmārah ibn Ghaziyyah from Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Azhar from Muḥammad ibn Kaʿb al-Qurazī with it, inserting Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Azhar between ʿUmārah and Ibn Kaʿb. Abū Nuʿaym also recorded it through the route of al-Ṭabarānī with his isnād from him. Al-Haythamī said in "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (9/311): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī mursal, and in it is Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Azhar al-Anṣārī, whom I do not know, and the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Ṣaḥīḥ." 3 - As for the mursal ḥadīth of Abū ʿAwn, Ibn Saʿd said (2/347): Abū Muʿāwiyah al-Ḍarīr informed us from Abū Isḥāq, meaning al-Shaybānī, from him in marfūʿ form with the wording: "Muʿādh will be ahead of the scholars on the Day of Resurrection by a stone's throw." This is also a sound mursal. 4 - As for the mursal of al-Ḥasan al-Baṣrī, it was also recorded by Ibn Saʿd through the route of Hishām ibn Ḥassān, and Thābit from him with it. It is also sound. In summary, the ḥadīth with all these routes is sound without a doubt, and no one knowledgeable in this noble science would doubt it, and it is supported by its widespread recognition among the Salaf, as al-Ḥākim narrated (3/268-269) with a sound isnād from Mālik ibn Anas who said:
