"Leadership is among the Quraysh, judiciary among the Anṣār, the call to prayer among the Abyssinians, legislation among the Yemenis, and trustworthiness among the Azd." Reported by Aḥmad (2/364): Zayd ibn al-Ḥabbāb narrated to us, Muʿāwiyah ibn Abī Ṣāliḥ narrated to us, he said: Abū Maryam told me that he heard Abū Hurayrah say it as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. This isnād is authentic; its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of Muslim, except for Abū Maryam who is an Anṣārī and is considered trustworthy as mentioned in "al-Taqrīb." It was also reported by al-Tirmidhī (2/329 - Būlāq edition) through Aḥmad ibn Manīʿ, narrated by Zayd ibn al-Ḥabbāb, without the phrase: "and legislation among the Yemenis." Then he narrated it through the path of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Mahdī from Muʿāwiyah ibn Ṣāliḥ in a similar manner from Abū Hurayrah but did not raise it. He said: "This is more authentic than the ḥadīth of Zayd ibn al-Ḥabbāb." I say: Zayd is trustworthy and truthful as mentioned in "al-Mīzān" and he raised it, which is an addition that must be accepted as established in the terminology. The ḥadīth was mentioned in "al-Majmaʿ" (4/192) and he said: "Narrated by Aḥmad and its narrators are trustworthy." I say: And parts of it have supporting evidence, so refer to the previously mentioned ḥadīth number (1039) and "al-Irwāʾ" (513).

"The worst food is the food of a banquet to which those who come are prevented and those who refuse are invited. Whoever does not respond to the invitation has disobeyed Allāh and His Messenger." Reported by Muslim (4/154) from Thābit al-Aʿraj from Abū Hurayrah as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. Al-Ḥāfiẓ said (9/200): "Similarly, it was reported by Abū al-Shaykh through the path of Muḥammad ibn Sīrīn from Abū Hurayrah explicitly as a marfūʿ ḥadīth." I say: It was also reported by al-Bukhārī (6/144), Muslim as well, and Abū Dāwūd (2/136)
