the ḥadīth was also recorded by Aḥmad, al-Tirmidhī, Ibn Mājah, and al-Ḥākim through another route from Abū Salām. Al-Ḥākim authenticated it, and al-Dhahabī agreed with him, but there is a discontinuity which I clarified in "Takhrīj al-Mishkāt" (5592). It has a supporting narration with Aḥmad (2/132) from the route of ʿUmar ibn ʿAmr Abū ʿUthmān al-Aḥmūsī: Mukhāriq ibn Abī Mukhāriq narrated to me from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar that he heard him say: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. I say: Its narrators are trustworthy except for this Mukhāriq. Ibn Abī Ḥātim mentioned him (4/1/352) with this narration and did not mention any criticism or endorsement. As for Ibn Ḥibbān, he mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt." Al-Mundhirī said (4/209): "Its isnād is good!" Then he mentioned another supporting narration from the ḥadīth of Abū Umāmah similar to it, and said: "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī, and its isnād is good for supporting narrations."

"The example of the believers in their mutual love, mercy, and compassion is like a single body; when one limb suffers, the rest of the body responds with sleeplessness and fever." It was recorded by Muslim (8/20), Aḥmad (4/70), and al-Ṭayālisī (no. 790) from the ḥadīth of al-Shaʿbī from al-Nuʿmān ibn Bashīr, elevated. Al-Bukhārī also recorded it (10/360-361 - Fatḥ) from this route with the wording: "You see the believers..." There is a second route from al-Nuʿmān. It was recorded by al-Ṭayālisī (no. 793) and Aḥmad (4/274) from Simāk ibn Ḥarb from him, in a shortened form. Its chain is authentic according to the criteria of Muslim. There is a third route with the wording: "The Muslims are like a single man..." and it will appear under number (2526).
