I heard Abū Hurayrah in a marfūʿ [elevated] ḥadīth. This is a ṣaḥīḥ isnād according to the conditions of Muslim, and he and others have narrated it with the wording: "When one of you comes to his servant," and it will appear, if Allāh wills, under number (1285).

"A man visited his brother in a village, so Allāh appointed an angel on his path. When the man reached him, the angel said: Where are you going? He said: I am visiting a brother of mine in this village. The angel said: Does he have any favor upon you that you are recompensing? He said: No, except that I love him for the sake of Allāh. The angel said: I am a messenger from Allāh to you, informing you that Allāh has loved you as you have loved him for His sake." Narrated by Abū Bakr al-Shāfiʿī in "al-Fawāʾid" (115/2) and al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī al-Jawharī in "Selected Benefits" (27/1) through various chains from Ḥammād ibn Salamah from Thābit from Abū Rāfiʿ from Abū Hurayrah in a marfūʿ ḥadīth. I say: This isnād is ṣaḥīḥ according to the conditions of Muslim, and he has included it in "Ṣaḥīḥ" (8/12) from this route. The statement of the ḥāfiẓ Muḥammad ibn Nāṣir in "al-Tanbīh" (folio 21/2) that it is included in "the two Ṣaḥīḥs" is an error from him, as the ḥadīth is not in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī. Rather, it is included in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (350). And it was narrated by Ibn Wahb in "al-Jāmiʿ" (30).

"Blessing is in three things: gatherings, tharīd [a dish of bread soaked in broth], and suḥūr [pre-dawn meal]." Narrated by Abū Ṭāhir al-Anbārī in "al-Mashyakha" (156/1-20) and al-Bayhaqī in "al-Shuʿab" (2/426/2) from Dāwūd ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-ʿAṭṭār who reported from ʿAbd Allāh al-Naṣrī from Sulaymān al-Taymī from Abū ʿUthmān al-Nahdī from Salmān al-Fārisī in a marfūʿ ḥadīth. I say: This isnād consists of narrators who are trustworthy and well-known, except for ʿAbd Allāh al-Naṣrī, whom I do not recognize. The ḥadīth is attributed by al-Suyūṭī in "al-Jāmiʿ" to al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Kabīr" and al-Bayhaqī in "al-Shuʿab" from Salmān, and its commentator al-Munāwī said: "Al-Zayn al-ʿIrāqī said: Their narrators are known for their trustworthiness except for Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Baṣrī."
