" my father narrated from him and heard from him during the days of ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Mūsá four ḥadīths " and he did not mention any criticism or praise about him, and I could not find a biography for al-Ḥusayn ibn Muḥammad al-Ḥannāṭ. As for al-Haythamī, he said (9/276): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī, and its isnād is good"! Indeed, the ḥadīth is good due to other evidence, for the first part does not require a witness as is apparent, and the middle part was narrated from al-Muṭṭalib ibn Rabīʿah, ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib, and his son al-Ḥasan with weak isnāds, which I have documented in the other book (1944-1945). As for the last part, it was extracted by Saʿīd ibn Manṣūr in "his Sunan" as in "al-Jāmiʿ al-Ṣaghīr" from the narration of ʿAbd Allāh al-Warrāq, mursal. Then I found another witness for it, as Ibn Wahb said in "al-Jāmiʿ" (p. 14): and Yūnus ibn Yazīd informed me from Ibn Shihāb who said: It has reached us, and Allāh knows best, that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "The paternal uncle is like a father when there is no father, and the maternal aunt is like a mother when there is no mother." And this isnād is mursal or muʿḍal, and its men are trustworthy.

"When the servant of one of you brings his food, let him sit with him or give him some of it, for he is the one who handled its heat and smoke." It was narrated by Ibn Mājah (2/308) and Aḥmad (1/388 and 446) through the route of Ibrāhīm al-Hijrī from Abū al-Aḥwaṣ from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Masʿūd, marfūʿ. And this isnād is good; all its men are trustworthy, the men of Muslim, except for Ibrāhīm al-Hijrī who is Ibn Muslim. In "al-Taqrīb" it is said: "He is lenient in ḥadīth, raising mawqūf narrations." I said: And this is certainly marfūʿ, and it has a witness which is: "When the servant of one of you brings his food, having spared him its heat and labor, if he does not sit him with him to eat, then let him give him a bite of his food."

- "When the servant of one of you brings his food, having spared him its heat and labor, if he does not sit him with him to eat, then let him give him a bite of his food." It was narrated by Aḥmad (2/406 and 464) from Ḥammād ibn Salamah who informed us from ʿAmmār ibn Abī ʿAmmār
