and the wording of Ibn Jarīr in one of his narrations is: "The people are from Adam and Eve, like the contents of a measure that has not been filled. Indeed, Allāh will not ask you about your lineages nor about your ancestries on the Day of Resurrection. * (Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allāh is the most righteous of you) *."

- "The best people are the Azd, their mouths are pure, their oaths are righteous, their hearts are pure." It was recorded by Aḥmad (2/351): Ḥasan narrated to us, Ibn Lahīʿah narrated to us, Abū Yūnus narrated from Abū Hurayrah as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. This isnād is weak because Ibn Lahīʿah has poor memory. As for al-Haythamī, he said (10/49): "It was narrated by Aḥmad and its isnād is ḥasan." He said this despite having repeatedly stated in this book the weakness of Ibn Lahīʿah, though sometimes he says his ḥadīth is ḥasan. I do not know how to reconcile this. Yes, it was narrated by Ibn Wahb in "al-Jāmiʿ," where he said (p. 6): Ibn Lahīʿah narrated it to me without the phrase "their oaths are righteous." And Ibn Wahb's narration from Abū Lahīʿah is ṣaḥīḥ as mentioned in the previous ḥadīth.

- "The best names are ʿAbd Allāh and ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, and the most truthful names are Hammām and Ḥārith, and the worst names are Ḥarb and Murrah." It was narrated by Ibn Wahb in "al-Jāmiʿ" (p. 7): Dāwūd ibn Qays informed me from ʿAbd al-Wahhāb ibn Bukht as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. I say: This isnād is mursal and ṣaḥīḥ, its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of Muslim. Ibn Wahb also recorded it from the narration of ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿĀmir al-Yaḥṣubī from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) as a mursal ḥadīth. Its isnād is also ṣaḥīḥ. The ḥadīth has a connected witness from the path of ʿUqayl ibn Shabīb from Abū Wahb al-Jushamī
