It was recorded by al-Bukhārī (7/177) and in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (117) from Zayd ibn Wahb from Abū Dharr as marfūʿ. It was also narrated by him and others with the wording: "I do not wish that anyone would have that with me," and it will be mentioned with number (2211). There is another chain with the wording: "It does not please me that I have a mountain of gold, and the third day comes upon me while I have a dinar or, he said: a mithqāl, except that I reserve it for a debtor." It was recorded by al-Dārimī (2/315), al-Ṭayālisī (p. 63, no. 465), Aḥmad (5/148-149), and al-Khaṭīb (8/376) from Suwayd ibn al-Ḥārith from Abū Dharr as marfūʿ. There is a third chain with another wording that will be mentioned: "By the One in whose hand is my soul, it does not please me."

"Whoever takes a debt intending to repay it, Allāh will assist him." It was recorded by al-Nasāʾī (2/233): Muḥammad ibn al-Muthanná narrated to us: he said: Wahb ibn Jarīr narrated to us, he said: my father narrated to us from al-Aʿmash from Ḥuṣayn ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān from ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUtbah that Maymūnah, the wife of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), took a loan, and it was said to her: O Mother of the Believers! You take a loan while you do not have the means to repay? She said: I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say it. So she mentioned it. It was also recorded by Abū Nuʿaym in "Akhbār Aṣbahān" (2/238) through the route of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī Bakr al-ʿAtalī who narrated to us from Jarīr ibn Ḥāzim. It is a ṣaḥīḥ isnād according to the conditions of the two Shaykhs if ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿAbd Allāh heard it from Maymūnah, as it is known that he narrates from them through ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbbās. It also has another chain from her with Ibn Mājah, Ibn Ḥibbān (1157), and Abū Nuʿaym, and in it is ʿImrān ibn Ḥudhayfah, who is unknown. See what we have commented on in "al-Targhīb" (2/33). And a third chain in the Musnad (6/332). Its narrators are trustworthy, except that there is a disconnection between Sālim—who is Ibn Abī al-Jaʿd—and Maymūnah. In summary, the ḥadīth is authentic with the collection of its chains.
