I said: This is a good chain of transmission for supporting evidence and corroborations, and its narrators are trustworthy, though there is some criticism of a few that does not harm it.

"The gravest sins in the sight of Allāh are a man who marries a woman, and after fulfilling his need from her, divorces her and takes her dowry, a man who employs another man and then withholds his wages, and another who kills an animal without purpose." It was narrated by al-Ḥākim (2/182) through the route of Ibn Khuzaymah, Abū Bakr Muḥammad ibn Isḥāq, the famous imam: ʿAbd al-Wārith ibn ʿAbd al-Ṣamad ibn ʿAbd al-Wārith al-ʿAnbarī narrated to us: My father narrated to me from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Dīnār from Muḥammad ibn Sīrīn from Ibn ʿUmar in a marfūʿ form. Al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic according to the criteria of al-Bukhārī," and al-Dhahabī agreed with him. I said: It is not as they said, for ʿAbd al-Wārith ibn ʿAbd al-Ṣamad is not among the narrators of al-Bukhārī; rather, he is among the narrators of Muslim. Moreover, although ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAbd Allāh was narrated by al-Bukhārī, he is criticized. Al-Dhahabī said in "al-Mīzān": He is reliable in ḥadīth, and he has been deemed trustworthy, and in "al-Taqrīb": "Truthful but makes mistakes." Thus, his ḥadīth is ḥasan, if Allāh wills.
