I said: In another narration by al-Ṭabarānī, there is an addition: "he said it three times." Al-Haythamī remained silent about it, which is not good, for in its chain is Khālid ibn Yazīd al-ʿAmrī, whom Abū Ḥātim and Yaḥyá declared a liar, and Ibn Ḥibbān said: "He narrates fabricated ḥadīths from reliable narrators." So this addition is weak and should not be considered.
قلت: وفي رواية للطبراني زيادة: " يقولها ثلاث مرات " وقد سكت عليها الهيثمي، وليس بجيد، فإن في سندها خالد بن يزيد العمري وقد كذبه أبو حاتم ويحيى، وقال ابن حبان: " يروي الموضوعات عن الأثبات ". فهذه الزيادة واهية لا يلتفت إليها.

- "May Allāh not fill his stomach." It refers to Muʿāwiyah. It was narrated by Abū Dāwūd al-Ṭayālisī in his "Musnad" (2746): Hishām and Abū ʿAwānah narrated to us from Abū Ḥamzah al-Qaṣṣāb from Ibn ʿAbbās: "The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) sent for Muʿāwiyah to write for him. He was told that he was eating, then he sent for him again, and he was told that he was eating. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) then said" and mentioned it. I said: This chain is authentic; all its narrators are trustworthy, narrators of Muslim. As for Abū Ḥamzah al-Qaṣṣāb, whose name is ʿImrān ibn Abī ʿAṭāʾ, there is some criticism from certain scholars, but it does not harm him, as a group of imams, including Aḥmad and Ibn Maʿīn, have declared him trustworthy. Those who weakened him did not clarify the reason, making it an ambiguous and unacceptable criticism. It seems that for this reason, Muslim used him as evidence and included this ḥadīth in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (8/27) through the route of Shuʿbah from Abū Ḥamzah al-Qaṣṣāb. It was also narrated by Aḥmad (1/240, 291, 335, 338) from Shuʿbah and Abū ʿAwānah from him with it
- " لا أشبع الله بطنه. يعني معاوية ". رواه أبو داود الطيالسي في " مسنده " (٢٧٤٦) : حدثنا هشام وأبو عوانة عن أبي حمزة القصاب عن ابن عباس: " أن رسول الله ﷺ بعث إلى معاوية ليكتب له: فقال: إنه يأكل ثم بعث إليه، فقال: إنه يأكل، فقال رسول الله ﷺ " فذكره. قلت: وهذا إسناد صحيح رجاله كلهم ثقات رجال مسلم، وفي أبي حمزة القصاب واسمه عمران بن أبي عطاء كلام من بعضهم لا يضره، فقد وثقه جماعة من الأئمة منهم أحمد وابن معين وغيرهما، ومن ضعفه لم يبين السبب، فهو جرح مبهم غير مقبول، وكأنه لذلك احتج به مسلم، وأخرج له هذا الحديث في " صحيحه " (٨ / ٢٧) من طريق شعبة عن أبي حمزة القصاب به. وأخرجه أحمد (١ / ٢٤٠، ٢٩١، ٣٣٥، ٣٣٨) عن شعبة وأبي عوانة عنه به،
