and they both reported it in the ḥadīth: "None loves the Anṣār except a believer." It will be mentioned, Allāh willing, (1975). This exact wording has been reported from the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah. It was recorded by Aḥmad (2/501 and 527) from Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr from Abū Salamah from him. This is a good chain, and al-Haythamī said (10/39): "It was narrated by Abū Yaʿlá and its chain is good, and it was narrated by al-Bazzār, and in it is Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr, who is a reliable narrator, and the rest of its narrators are those of the authentic collections." It seems he overlooked its presence in "al-Musnad" from this route, otherwise he would have attributed it to it before those [other sources]. It was reported from the ḥadīth of al-Ḥārith ibn Ziyād as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. It was recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān (2291). And from the ḥadīth of Muʿāwiyah ibn Abī Sufyān. It was also recorded by Aḥmad (4/100) from al-Ḥakam ibn Mināʾ from Yazīd ibn Jāriyah from him. This chain is potentially good or it is good due to other supporting evidence. Al-Haythamī said: "It was narrated by Aḥmad and Abū Yaʿlá, who said similarly, and al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Kabīr' and 'al-Awsaṭ', and the narrators of Aḥmad are those of the authentic collections." Thus he said, but it is not correct, for Yazīd ibn Jāriyah was not narrated by any of the six except al-Nasāʾī, who authenticated him, but in al-Haythamī's book it appears as "from Zayd ibn Thābit" instead of "Yazīd ibn Jāriyah," so I do not know if the error is from him or from some of the copyists. The ḥadīth was also reported with the wording: "Whoever loves the Anṣār does so because of my love for them, and whoever hates the Anṣār does so because of my hatred for them." It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī from the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah. It was mentioned in "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (10/39):
