It was recorded by Ibn Mājah (2/197) from Abū Sinān ʿĪsá ibn Sinān, from Yaʿlá ibn Shaddād, from ʿUbādah ibn al-Ṣāmit who said: "The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) prayed with us on the day of Ḥunayn beside a camel from the spoils, then he took something from the camel and took a hair - meaning a fiber - and placed it between his fingers, then he said: " and he mentioned it. Its narrators are trustworthy except for ʿĪsá ibn Sinān, about whom there is disagreement. It is said in "al-Mīzān": Aḥmad and Ibn Maʿīn weakened him, and he is among those whose ḥadīth is written despite its mild weakness, and some have strengthened him slightly. Al-ʿAjlī said: There is no harm in him, and Abū Ḥātim said, he is not strong." In "al-Taqrīb": "Weak in ḥadīth." I say: However, it is strengthened by the ḥadīth being reported through another chain from ʿUbādah with the wording: "O people, it is not permissible for me from what Allāh has granted you except this much, and the fifth is returned to you, so give the thread and the needle, and beware of embezzlement, for it is a disgrace for its people on the Day of Judgment. And engage in jihād in the way of Allāh, for it is a gate from the gates of Paradise through which Allāh removes worry and distress." And he disliked the "spoils" and said: "Let the strong among the believers return to the weak among them." It was recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān (1693) and al-Ḥākim (3/49) (5/318, 319, 324) separately through the chain of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn al-Ḥārith, from Sulaymān ibn Mūsá al-Ashdaq, from Makhūl, from Abū Salām, from Abū Umāmah al-Bāhilī, from ʿUbādah ibn al-Ṣāmit who said: "The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) took a hair from the side of a camel on the day of Ḥunayn, then he said" and he mentioned it. Al-Nasāʾī (2/178) narrated the first part of it, and al-Dārimī (2/229, 230) narrated the second, third, and last parts with this chain
