"Whoever leaves obedience and separates from the community, and dies, dies a death of ignorance. Whoever fights under a blind banner, getting angry for the sake of a group, calling to a group, or supporting a group, and is killed, is killed a death of ignorance. Whoever rebels against my community, striking its righteous and wicked, not refraining from harming its believers, and not fulfilling the covenant of those with whom he has a pact, is not from me and I am not from him." Narrated by Muslim (6/21), al-Nasāʾī (2/177), and Aḥmad (2/306 and 488) from the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah, elevated. Part of it is supported by the ḥadīth of Jundub ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Bajalī, which has passed (433) with the wording: "Whoever is killed under a blind banner" ...

"Whoever removes a hand from obedience will meet Allāh on the Day of Judgment without an argument, and whoever dies without a pledge on his neck dies a death of ignorance." Narrated by Muslim (6/22) from the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿUmar. Also narrated by al-Ḥākim (1/77 and 117) with the wording: "Whoever leaves the community by a handspan has removed the noose of Islam from his neck until he returns to it, and whoever dies without an imam and a community, his death is a death of ignorance." Al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic according to the conditions of the two shaykhs." Al-Dhahabī agreed.

"O people, this is from your spoils. Return the thread and the needle, and what is above that and below that, for indeed, embezzlement is a disgrace for its people on the Day of Judgment, a shame and a fire."
