I said: he was also referred to by this nickname in some of the ḥadīth paths in "al-Musnad," which indicates that he is Ziyād al-Ḥārithī, so the chain is authentic. And Allāh knows best. A similar ḥadīth comes from another path from Abū Hurayrah (1012). It has supporting evidence from the ḥadīth of Junādah ibn Abī Umayyah who said: "I entered upon the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) with a group from al-Azd on a Friday, and the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) invited us to some food in front of him. We said: We are fasting. He said: Did you fast yesterday? We said: No. He said: Will you fast tomorrow? We said: No. He said: Then break your fast, and then said: Do not fast on Friday alone." It was recorded by al-Ḥākim (3/608) who said: "Authentic according to the conditions of Muslim." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him. I said: In it, Ibn Isḥāq was not recorded by Muslim except in conjunction, and he is a mudallis and narrated it with ʿanʿanah.
قلت: وقد جاء مكنيا بهذه الكنية في بعض طرق الحديث في " المسند " مما يدل على أنه هو زياد الحارثي، فالسند صحيح. والله أعلم. ويأتي الحديث نحوه من طريق أخرى عن أبي هريرة (١٠١٢) . وله شاهد من حديث جنادة بن أبي أمية قال: " دخلت على رسول الله ﷺ في نفر من الأزد يوم الجمعة، فدعانا رسول الله ﷺ إلى طعام بين يديه، فقلنا: إنا صيام، فقال: صمتم أمس؟ قلنا: لا قال: أفتصومون غدا؟ قلنا: لا، قال: فأفطروا، ثم قال: " لا تصوموا يوم الجمعة مفردا ". أخرجه الحاكم (٣ / ٦٠٨) وقال: " صحيح على شرط مسلم ". ووافقه الذهبي. قلت: وفيه أن ابن إسحاق لم يخرج له مسلم إلا مقرونا، ثم هو مدلس وقد عنعنه.
"A man's spending on his family is considered a charity." It was recorded by al-Bukhārī (5/17) and al-Tirmidhī (1/356) who said "ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ" and Aḥmad (5/273) from Abū Masʿūd al-Badrī as marfūʿ. The phrase (is considered) is not present with the first two. It is a correct addition confirmed by the two Shaykhs and others.
" نفقة الرجل على أهله يحتسبها صدقة ". أخرجه البخاري (٥ / ١٧) والترمذي (١ / ٣٥٦) وقال " حسن صحيح " وأحمد (٥/ ٢٧٣) عن أبي مسعود البدري مرفوعا. وليس عند الأولين (يحتسبها) . وهي زيادة صحيحة ثابتة عند الشيخين وغيرهما.
