on the thigh of Abū al-Dardāʾ, ʿUwaymir! Salman is more knowledgeable than you (three times)." He mentioned it. I said: And this is a ṣaḥīḥ mursal isnād.

"Do not fast on Friday unless you fast a day before it or a day after it." It was recorded by al-Tirmidhī (1/143), Ibn Mājah (1/526), and Aḥmad (2/495) through the route of al-Aʿmash from Abū Ṣāliḥ from Abū Hurayrah, raised [to the Prophet]. And this isnād is ṣaḥīḥ according to the criteria of al-Shaykhayn, and al-Tirmidhī authenticated it. It has also come through other routes, so refer to the one before it. And "Indeed, Friday is a day of Eid..." which is extracted in "al-Irwāʾ" number (94). And "He forbade fasting on Friday." It will appear under number (1012). Among its routes is what al-Ṭaḥāwī recorded in "Sharḥ al-Maʿānī" (1/339) through the route of Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr from Abū Salamah from Abū Hurayrah, raised [to the Prophet] with the wording: "Do not fast on Friday unless you fast a day before it or a day after it." And its isnād is ḥasan. It was also recorded by Aḥmad (2/365, 422, 458, 526) and al-Ṭaḥāwī through the route of ʿAbd al-Malik ibn ʿUmayr from Ziyād al-Ḥārithī from him similarly. And this isnād is ṣaḥīḥ, its men are the men of the six except for Ziyād al-Ḥārithī, as mentioned in "al-Taʿjīl." "Our Shaykh said: I do not know him. I said al-Ḥusaynī asserted that he is Abū al-Awbar and he is known, but he is more famous by his kunyah than his name. He was named Ziyād by al-Nasāʾī, al-Dūlābī, Abū Aḥmad al-Ḥākim, and others, and he was deemed trustworthy by Ibn Maʿīn and Ibn Ḥibbān, and his ḥadīth was authenticated."
