"a rare ḥadīth from the narration of al-Mughīrah, uniquely transmitted by Hāshim ibn Hāshim from ʿUmar from him. We have not recorded it with a higher isnād except from the narration of Makki." I said: Its chain of transmission consists of trustworthy men according to the two Shaykhs [al-Bukhārī and Muslim], except for this ʿUmar. Al-Dhahabī mentioned another ḥadīth for him in "al-Mīzān" and then said: "al-ʿUqaylī said: He is not followed in it: Muḥammad ibn Ismāʿīl narrated to us: Makki ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to us." I said: He mentioned it with this isnād. The ḥāfiẓ said: "And the rest of his statement: As for the matn, it has been narrated with good isnāds, and Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him among the trustworthy and named his grandfather as Muḥammad ibn al-Aswad." I said: Such a narration is acceptable for use as supporting evidence, and this is one of them
" حديث غريب من حديث المغيرة تفرد به هاشم بن هاشم عن عمر عنه، ماكتبناه عاليا إلا من حديث مكي ". قلت: وإسناده ثقات رجال الشيخين غير عمر هذا، وقد أورد له الذهبي في" الميزان " حديثا آخر ثم قال: " قال العقيلي: لا يتابع عليه: حدثنا محمد بنإسماعيل: حدثنا مكي ابن إبراهيم. قلت: فذكره بهذا الإسناد ". قال الحافظ:" وبقية كلامه: فأما المتن فقد روي بأسانيد جياد، وذكره ابن حبان في الثقاتوسمى جده محمد بن الأسود ". قلت: فمثله لا بأس بروايته في الشواهد، وهذا منها.
