It was recorded by al-Khaṭīb (4/217) through the route of Aḥmad ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Ḥaddād, who narrated to us from Yazīd ibn ʿUmar, from ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Muḥammad, from ʿAbd Allāh, the client of ʿAfrā, from Muḥammad ibn Kaʿb al-Quraẓī, from Abū Ayyūb. Yazīd ibn ʿUmar is unknown to me, and likewise, I did not find anyone who mentioned ʿAbd Allāh, the client of ʿAfrā. I fear there might be an omission or distortion in the chain, for it was recorded by al-Tirmidhī (2/270) through the route of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī al-Zinād, from ʿUmar, the client of Ghafrah, from Muḥammad ibn Kaʿb with it, except he did not provide its wording but referred to a previous wording: "If you did not sin...," and it will come (1963), and al-Tirmidhī said: something similar.
