and by Aḥmad (2/304-305, 305) through the route of Saʿd ibn ʿUbayd al-Ṭāʾī Abū Mujāhid, who reported to us from Abū al-Mudillah, the freedman of the Mother of the Believers, who heard Abū Hurayrah say: "We said: O Messenger of Allāh, when we see you, our hearts become tender and we become people of the Hereafter, but when we leave you, the world attracts us, and we long for women and children." He said, and mentioned it. This is a weak chain due to Abū al-Mudillah, as al-Dhahabī said: "He is hardly known; no one narrated from him except Abū Mujāhid." In "Taqrīb": "Accepted." The rest of the men in the isnād of the ḥadīth are trustworthy, the men of al-Bukhārī. I say: However, it is a ḥasan or ṣaḥīḥ ḥadīth due to its preceding and other supporting narrations, so refer to the following ḥadīth with the wording: "If you were to remain..." number (1965). And with the wording: "If you were to be..." number (1976). Among its supporting narrations: "If you did not sin, Allāh would bring a people who would sin so that He could forgive them."

- "If you did not sin, Allāh would bring a people who would sin so that He could forgive them." It was recorded by Imām Aḥmad (1/289): Aḥmad ibn ʿAbd al-Malik al-Ḥarrānī narrated to us, saying: Yaḥyá ibn ʿAmr ibn Mālik al-Nakrī said: I heard my father narrate from Abū al-Jawzāʾ from Ibn ʿAbbās in a marfūʿ manner.
