- "If you did not have sins for which Allāh could forgive you, Allāh would bring a people who have sins that He could forgive for them." It was recorded by Muslim (8/94) through the route of Muḥammad ibn Kaʿb al-Qurāẓī from Abū Ṣirmah from Abū Ayyūb al-Anṣārī as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. And there is another route for it with him from Abū Ṣirmah with the wording: "If you did not sin." It will be mentioned, Allāh willing, under number (1963). And it has a corroborating narration from the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah with the wording: "If you did not err, Allāh would bring a people who err, and He would forgive them."
- " لو أنكم لم تكن لكم ذنوب يغفرها الله لكم لجاء الله بقوم لهم ذنوب يغفرها لهم ". أخرجه مسلم (٨ / ٩٤) من طريق محمد بن كعب القرظي عن أبي صرمة عن أبي أيوب الأنصاري مرفوعا. وله عنده طريق أخرى عن أبي صرمة بلفظ: " لولا أنكم تذنبون ". ويأتي إن شاء الله برقم (١٩٦٣). وله شاهد من حديث أبي هريرة بلفظ: " لو أنكم لا تخطئون لأتى الله بقوم يخطئون يغفر لهم ".
- "If you did not err, Allāh would bring a people who err, and He would forgive them." It was recorded by al-Ḥākim (4/246) from ʿAmr ibn al-Ḥārith that Darāj narrated it to him from Ibn Ḥujayr from Abū Hurayrah as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. And he said: "Its isnād is authentic." And al-Dhahabī agreed with him. I say: Darāj is spoken about, and in "Taqrīb" it says: "Truthful, but his ḥadīth from Abū al-Haytham is weak." I say: It is ḥasan, Allāh willing, due to its previous and forthcoming corroborations, especially since it has another route from Abū Hurayrah with the wording: "If you were - or he said: If you were always - in the state that you are in when you are with me, the angels would shake hands with you with their palms and visit you in your homes, and if you did not sin, Allāh would bring a people who sin so that He could forgive them." It was recorded by Ibn al-Mubārak in "al-Zuhd" (1075) and also by al-Ṭayālisī (p. 337, no
- " لو أنكم لا تخطئون لأتى الله بقوم يخطئون يغفر لهم ". أخرجه الحاكم (٤ / ٢٤٦) عن عمرو بن الحارث أن دراجا حدثه عن ابن حجير عن أبي هريرة مرفوعا. وقال: " صحيح الإسناد ". ووافقه الذهبي. قلت: ودراج متكلم فيه وفي التقريب: " صدوق في حديثه عن أبي الهيثم ضعف ". قلت: فهو حسن إن شاء الله تعالى بشواهده السابقة والآتية، لاسيما وأن له طريقا أخرى عن أبي هريرة بلفظ: " لو تكونون - أو قال: لو أنكم تكونون - على كل حال على الحال التي أنتم عليها عندي لصافحتكم الملائكة بأكفهم ولزارتكم في بيوتكم ولو لم تذنبوا لجاء الله بقوم يذنبون كي يغفر لهم ". أخرجه ابن المبارك في " الزهد " (١٠٧٥) والطيالسي أيضا (ص ٣٣٧ رقم
