- "People will continue to ask, saying: 'What is this, what is that?' until they say: 'Allāh is the Creator of people, so who created Allāh?' At that point, they go astray." Narrated by Ibn Abī ʿĀṣim in "al-Sunnah" (59/1) through the route of Muḥammad ibn Faḍīl from al-Mukhtār ibn Fulful from Anas ibn Mālik, attributed [to the Prophet]. I say: This chain is authentic according to the criteria of Muslim, and he has also recorded it (1/85) without the phrase: "At that point, they go astray." Then he narrated it from the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah with a similar meaning, and it includes (So let him seek refuge with Allāh and desist), and it has been mentioned earlier (117).
- " لا يزال الناس يسألون يقولون: ما كذا ما كذا حتى يقولوا: الله خالق الناس فمن خلق الله؟ فعند ذلك يضلون ". رواه ابن أبي عاصم في " السنة " (٥٩ / ١) من طريق محمد بن فضيل عن المختار بن فلفل عن أنس بن مالك مرفوعا. قلت: وهذا سند صحيح على شرط مسلم وقد أخرجه (١ / ٨٥) دون قوله: " فعند ذلك يضلون ". ثم رواه من حديث أبي هريرة نحوه وفيه (فليستعذ بالله ولينته)، وقد مضى (١١٧).
- "If the servants did not sin, Allāh would create a creation that would sin, then He would forgive them, for He is the Forgiving, the Merciful." Narrated by al-Ḥākim (4/246) and Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (7/204) from Shuʿbah from Abū Balj Yaḥyá ibn Abī Sulaym from ʿAmr ibn Maymūn from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhumā), attributed [to the Prophet]. He mentioned it as supporting evidence for the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah that follows, Allāh willing, and he remained silent about it. Its chain is good; all its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of the six, except for Abū Balj (with the first letter open and the lām silent followed by jīm, and in the original: Balḥ with ḥāʾ, which is an error) Yaḥyá ibn Abī Sulaym, who is truthful but sometimes errs, as mentioned in "al-Taqrīb." And it is supported by: "If you did not have sins for Allāh to forgive you, Allāh would bring a people who have sins for Him to forgive."
- " لو أن العباد لم يذنبوا لخلق الله ﷿ خلقا يذنبون، ثم يغفر لهم وهو الغفور الرحيم ". أخرجه الحاكم (٤ / ٢٤٦) وأبو نعيم في " الحلية " (٧ / ٢٠٤) عن شعبة عن أبي بلج يحيى بن أبي سليم عن عمرو بن ميمون عن عبد الله بن عمرو ﵁ مرفوعا. أورده شاهدا لحديث أبي هريرة الآتي بعده إن شاء الله وسكت عليه. وإسناده حسن، رجاله كلهم ثقات رجال الستة غير أبي بلج (بفتح أوله وسكون اللام بعدها جيم وفي الأصل: بلح بالحاء وهو خطأ) يحيى بن أبي سليم وهو صدوق ربما أخطأ كما في التقريب. ويشهد له: " لو أنكم لم تكن لكم ذنوب يغفرها الله لكم لجاء الله بقوم لهم ذنوب يغفرها لهم ".
